About the Oxford Investment & Finance Society

The Oxford Investment & Finance Society is a University-based organisation that provides information on the role of the financial services sector and related fields. With the goal “to provide our members with the foundation skills and relationships to develop successful financial careers”, OIFS is open to anyone in the university, the society aims to cater to anyone with an interest in the finance industries.

By establishing links with financial firms, both small and large, the Society aims to provide information about key firms and contacts within this sector to those interested in entering the world of finance. With over 2,000 members, we assist those firms by providing a platform from which to progress their graduate recruitment programs, inspire potential recruits, and hopefully fulfil our members career aspirations. Furthermore, we also aim to bring students with interests in the finance industry together.

With these aims in mind, the Oxford Investment and Finance Society hosts a wide range of events every term. These range from insightful and specific lectures, workshops (such as the recent CV workshop hosted by Barclays Capital), to networking events (such as the company firm-wide presentations before internship deadlines This range of events provides an invaluable service to anyone with career aspirations in the City, and has won OIFS great popularity as one of the largest societies within the University.
